The University of Malta is celebrating quite the milestone this year – 250 years since the foundation of the Alma Mater. YAS!
Celebrations are being held throughout the months of October and November in commemoration of this part of the university’s history, primarily an exhibition called A Nation of Achievers, which will be on display at the University of Malta Valletta Campus.
The exhibition consists of scrolls that haven’t been publicly exhibited before, which were awarded to University graduates across the three centuries. Such scrolls belonged to Maltese personalities and past students, including Sir Temi Zammit and Sir Ugo Mifsud.
On Friday 1st November, the University Foundation Day Celebration Concert will be held at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, while the Honoris Causa ceremony will be held at the Jesuits Church in Valletta.
Also in commemoration of the University’s anniversary, the institution will be launching a commemorative stamp cover together with Maltapost, as well as cancellation stamps for all those stamp collectors.
Happy birthday, Uni!
