As talk of vaccine trials nearing their end spreads, a question we can't help wondering about is whether the COVID-19 vaccine will be obligatory in Malta.

Responding to this very question, the Superintendent of Public Health Prof. Charmaine Gauci gave some insight. "The vaccine will not be obligatory," she said, insisting that people understand the seriousness of the pandemic and how much it has affected families and frontliners.

Prof. Gauci said that citizens are used to being inoculated with vaccines that benefit our health, confirming that, "We do not feel the need to make it obligatory."
