It looks like Malta may be in for a wet and unsettled few days, with the risk of showers and thunderstorms continuing into the weekend.

According to the latest forecast, we were met with isolated thunderstorms this morning, with temperatures reaching around 27°C. The rain risk currently stands at 55%, with between 2mm and 9mm of rainfall possible.

Things should settle somewhat on Thursday, which is expected to be partly cloudy with a lower 25% chance of rain. However, the weather could become more changeable again on Friday, when isolated showers are forecast during the afternoon and the rain risk rises to 55%.

And if you're making outdoor plans for Saturday, you may want to keep an eye on the skies. Maltese Islands Weather is forecasting isolated thunderstorms during the morning, with a 55% chance of rain and between 2mm and 9mm of rainfall possible. Temperatures are expected to reach a cooler 26°C.

Sunday currently looks calmer, with partly cloudy conditions and a 25% chance of rain, while temperatures could climb back to around 27°C.

So, while it may not be a complete washout, this weekend could bring a distinctly autumnal change in weather, particularly on Saturday morning.
