Another summer week means another festa-packed weekend! Whatever feast you’re heading to this weekend, you’ll surely have a blast full of fun, festa vibes and food, cos obvs. Here are the seven festas that are on this weekend. Which will you be headed to?

1. St Margaret, Sannat (Gozo)

Take a trip to Malta’s sister isle and celebrate the feast of St Margaret in Sannat. The highlight of the festivities is probably the brass band performance, whose music fills the quaint village’s streets. The titular painting of St Margaret of Antioch in the church is definitely a must-see while visiting this local feast.

2. St Anne, Marsascala

Locals’ devotion to St Anne, the mother of the Virgin Mary, goes back quite a while. The annual feast involves religious ceremonies, local band marches along the streets of the seaside town and a glamorous fireworks display.

3. Our Lady of Sorrows, St Paul’s Bay

Malta’s northern connecting town transforms into a vibing town for the weekend. Leading up to the festivities, the town follows a religious programme, but once Friday rolls around, the fun-packed weekend begins! The colourfully decorated church is the main attraction, while the brass band marches will have you entertained all night. A spectacular fireworks display will also be shown that will definitely have you ooh-ing and aah-ing!

4. Christ the King, Paola

Take a trip down south to celebrate Paola’s Christ the King festa. The locality is decorated every year with beautiful lights creating a vibrant vibe for people of all ages to enjoy. Watch the traditional gigifogu whizz round in the parish square while nibbling on a piece of yummy Maltese nougat. #Festagoals

5. Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Balluta (St Julian’s)

Balluta’s feast is quite the popular one, with an incredible seaside fireworks display and stunning statues that line the Sliema promenade. Keep your head up while walking along the promenade this week; you wouldn’t want a close encounter with one of the figures. #GundallaAlert

6. St Venera, Santa Venera

There’s so much to do at the Santa Venera feast! Witness the religious functions inside the church and later head out to festivities all over town. Beautifully lit up with vibrant colours, the town boasts various statues, banners and street decorations. Follow the band through the streets and stop to grab a bite from the various street food stalls around town.

7. St Joseph, Zebbug

The last feast on this week’s list is that of St Joseph celebrated in Zebbug. Admire the festive decorations, vibe to the band’s tunes and indulge in the traditional festa food and local delicacies on offer at the Zebbug festival. Your taste buds will love it!
