WHO died? Misspelt sign at food joint has locals in fits
You’ve gotta see it to believe it!

Signage with misspelled words strike again on the Maltese Islands! This time, we’re making our way into the food department.

A photo of a sign listing food available on the day at a local joint was posted to Facebook, which included: timpana (local baked pasta in pastry), ravjul (ravioli), majjal il-forn (roasted pork), and miet bolls. Yes, MIET BOLLS instead of the traditional meat balls.

But what had locals in fits was not only the misspelled signage, but also the fact that miet means ‘died’ Maltese, and locals were quick to respond in the comments with puns. “Heqq November, uwx” said one, referring to the month that remembers the dead.

Another was quick to comment, saying “just like me, because I feel totally dead!” while someone else said, “So when is Bolls’ funeral?”
