Explore the islands

The weather’s cool enough to wander around the island and discover new things like picture perfect walks in a remote village you’ve never explored before. Getting lost is the best part, so take it easy and turn that GPS off. Whether you're just visiting, have lived here all your life or have just moved to our rock (welcome!), you’ll surely find a new spot to fall in love with.

Try out a new restaurant

Malta and Gozo are full of top class restaurants. Break the weekly habit and try out a new joint this month. October is all about adjusting to the new routine of the year - this little menu change could light a spark in your creativity and help you try out new cuisines.

Spend time with family

The summer’s way too hectic to keep in touch with your extended family, work usually takes over and the sun slows you down, but come October, it may seem like you’ve used up all your excuses. Maltese families will always welcome their own with a warm cup of tea and an even warmer hug, and if you don’t have family on the island, get in touch anyway and invite them for a long weekend - it’s always nice to catch up!

Do something good

We’re very good at thinking of ourselves, deciphering what we want and how we can achieve it, but we often forget that giving back is a good way to go too. Dig deep, find a skill you can put to good use and help someone out this October. It doesn’t have to be costly or take up a lot of your time; it’s the thought that counts.

Catch up on stuff

Now that the lethargy of summer’s drifted away… get your game on! Go to the theatre, head to your favourite museum, plan a short trip to Gozo or even catch up on some quiet time - October motivates most locals to get their routine on point, so why not try it out for yourself?

October is one of the most comforting months on the islands. There’s so much of the summer that’s still fresh in your memory and so much to look forward to for the winter. Find yourself this October, make peace with the summer stress and embrace the autumn cosiness.
