It's the week many have been waiting for!

Rebecca Anastasi

Have you been counting the days?

Wednesday, 27th June: Isle of MTV 2018 – Granaries, Floriana.

What

viewingmalta / Rene Rossignaud

This is the party many have been waiting for since last year’s edition closed! Isle of MTV is back, and this time promises to be just as good as the last. Expect Jason Derulo, Sigala, Paloma Faith, Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike in a stellar line-up which has everyone talking. Registration for the event is now closed so – if you haven't grabbed your place yet – beg, ask and pray for a spot to open!

And the music continues every night:

Wednesday, 27th June – Monday, 1st July from 7pm – 2am: Malta Music Week 2018 – various locations.

What

Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike / Facebook

Though Isle of MTV is the flagship event for Malta Music Week, it’s not the only thing music aficionados can look forward to! Club nights, live street concerts and the official Isle of MTV after party will kick into gear this Wednesday, with Jax Jones, Dimitri Vegas and Sigala making an appearance on several evenings. Oh, what a week it will be!

But, if you want a different sort of party:

Tuesday 26th June from 10pm – 4am: The End of Exams Afterparty - The Playground Malta, St Julian's; Wednesday, 27th June from 9pm – 4am: The Havana Anniversary - Club Havana Malta, St Julian's; Thursday, 28th June from 9pm – 4am: OTR presents DAN SHAKE - Uno Village, Crafts Village, Ta' Qali.

What

OTR / Facebook

If you’re the sort to hop from one party to another, there’s plenty more in store. Tomorrow night, head to The Playground in St Julian’s for an End of Exams Afterparty – and you don’t necessarily need to be a student to attend! Just act like one. And on Wednesday, the iconic Club Havana in St Julian’s is celebrating its anniversary with music and bar offers available all night. Thursday night, head to Crafts Village to really let your hair down and groove to the music of Dan Shake.

Make it hot:

Thursday, 28th June from 8pm – 2am: Hotter Than Hell - Kiss Tribute - The Garage, Zebbug.

What

Hotter than Hell Kiss Tribute / Facebook

Remember Kiss? We do! If you want to see the iconic band’s pyrotechnics, fire breathing, greasepaint make-up and those seven-inch platform boots live, this tribute concert by Hotter than Hell - one of Europe's biggest Kiss Tribute bands - will fit the bill. Expect some classics such as Detroit Rock City, Crazy Crazy Nights, Rock N Roll All Night and God Gave Rock and Roll to You. This is going to be one night to remember.

And maybe get in a movie night:

Wednesday, 27th June from 7:30pm: Jeune Femme – Spazju Kreattiv, Valletta.

What

Jeune Femme / Spazju Kreattiv

Spazju Kreattiv is working very hard to import great international titles, which have made a splash on the continent and beyond. Jeune Femme is one of these. This French film, which premiered in Cannes in 2017 and won the prestigious Camera d’Or prize at the festival, tells the story of Paula (Laetitia Dosch) who is a muddle of contradictions. Fresh from an unceremonious dumping by her boyfriend of 10 years, she finds herself wandering the streets of Paris – jobless, homeless and single – with no idea of what life holds for her next. At 31 years old, with little to show for it but a kidnapped cat and a sense of adventure, she sets out to reinvent herself – new job, new friends, new life – and finds that these things never do come easily.

Or a night at the theatre:

Thursday, 28th June & Saturday, 30th June from 8pm – 10pm: Cendrillon - Teatru Manoel, Valletta.

What

viewingmalta

There was a time when theatre season ended just as the sun got hot and interiors were stifling. But this year, Teatru Manoel’s new climate control system has meant that Malta’s national theatre is able to put on quality shows – whatever the time of year. This summer it’s doing just that, starting with the French opera Cendrillon (based on the Cinderella fairytale), by Maltese-born composer Nicolas Isouard, which will be performed this Thursday and Saturday.

Though you should definitely rub shoulders with these outstanding ladies:

Thursday, 28th June from 9am – 1pm: SHE Malta Women's Networking Event - Camilleri Paris Mode, Rabat.

What

SHE Networking Event / Facebook

Tearing down the glass ceiling is a tough job, but someone’s got to do it. Well, it's going to require more than one person. Such a mammoth task is inevitably a group effort, and the people behind this women’s networking event understand that all too well. Entrepreneurs Jo Caruana, Vanessa Coleiro, Carla Grima and Mara Camilleri will be present to talk about their experiences and help other women feel empowered to take the reigns and lean in.
