Valletta's Rubino won the prestigious 'Bib Gourmand' award earlier this year.
Local restaurant Rubino may have one a MICHELIN star at the start of the year, but it's one of its most dedicated workers that is the true star of the show.
A recent post by Valletta's Rubino has tugged at the heartstrings of many as it narrates the story of Toni, the front-of-house manager, who has been with the restaurant for "more years than one can remember." Having started with Rubino at a very young age, Toni is known for his "inimitable way" of managing the front-of-house: "Patrons have been appreciative of his hospitality and manner for decades now and the recognition given by Michelin to the restaurant makes Toni proud."
"It is further recognition of the ethos of the restaurant, excellent food matched by Toni's unique approach to service. Thank you Toni. This recognition is also very much yours."
The post was flooded with positive comments from patrons and frequent diners, with one referring to Toni as simply "...one of a kind," while another bestowed him the title of "a star."
Toni is also well-loved by sales representatives, with one commentator narrating: "Toni, is beside also host to all sales representatives as he welcomes them with the same hospitality that he welcomes all his guests. Toni you are a true example of professionalism."
