Malta has been mentioned among the 50 most instagrammable spots in all of Europe. Not only did we make the list, but we also ranked super high, seventh place to be exact, beating out places like Cote d’Azure, Kiev, and Vienna.
The list was compiled by Big 7 Travel, a global travel site, that said “sweeping stretches of coastline, historical monuments, kitsch cocktail bars and more street art than you can possibly imagine” turned out to be the most popular on Instagram. The final results were ranked in order of their visual allure and popularity on social media.
“Nestled just below Italy in the Mediterranean, you’ll find the gorgeous island of Malta. There is no shortage of great Malta Instagram spots. The island has stunning natural beauty, which along with friendly locals make it the ideal holiday destination for many,” says Big 7. And boy, are they right!
Using #Malta, nearly six million posts on Instagram appear, featuring some of the most iconic spots on the Maltese Islands. Valletta and Mdina are obviously among the top locations, as is Blue Lagoon, and the colourful umbrella installation that brightened the Zabbar area for a time last year.
Dubrovnik topped the chart followed by Iceland, the Highlands in Scotland, Budapest, The Cotswolds in England, and Kerry in Ireland.
