Wet days ahead! Heavy rain expected in Malta during second half of October
Get ready, pluviophiles!

After this week’s dry conditions, locals and tourists eager for autumn rain may not have long to wait. Popular local weather page Maltese Islands Weather has suggested that the islands are likely to see their next spell of heavy rainfall during the second half of October.

The update, shared on social media, comes in response to the many questions the page regularly receives about when the islands can expect significant rain. While brief showers have occurred in recent weeks, the overall weather pattern has remained largely dry in October, leaving many wondering when Malta’s much-needed rainfall would arrive again.

October is typically a transitional month for Malta’s climate, often bringing the first real taste of autumn weather after the long summer. Historically, the latter half of October has been associated with unstable weather conditions and the first bouts of heavier rain, sometimes accompanied by thunderstorms.

Although no precise dates were given in the statement, the forecast aligns with seasonal expectations. Meteorologists caution, however, that exact timing and intensity can vary due to shifting Mediterranean weather systems.

For now, the reassurance from Maltese Islands Weather offers a clear message: those waiting for rain should prepare for a wetter spell in the coming weeks, as the island shifts towards its cooler, rainier season.

Are you looking forward to October’s rainfall?
