Well done! You wouldn’t believe the amount of trash collected at Ahrax this weekend
ORCA and the Mellieha Local Council teamed up to clear up the area.

Certain parts of Malta’s countryside are in need of some TLC and a good clean-up. ORCA (Outdoor Recreation and Camping Association) together with the Mellieha Local Council cleaned up the Ahrax area in the town, and it’s safe to say it was a success.

“Another clean-up event in L-Aħrax Mellieħa, this time on the initiative of ORCA in collaboration with the Mellieħa Local Council,” says councillor Rebecca Bartolo Cutajar on Facebook, sharing photos of the outcome.

“Clean-ups in Mellieħa have become a regular event, on one hand it's great but on the other hand it isn't, as it makes you realise that it is becoming a vicious unsolved circle. I once again ask for wardens/rangers, not only in woodlands but all over Malta. By the beaches and in our streets,” she continued, appealing to relevant authorities saying, “Without enforcement, things are going to remain the same.”

Mellieha councillor Gabriel Micallef also shared a message, appealing to the public to take care of their surroundings. “Looking after the environment is everyone’s responsibility - yours & ours. Together, let’s clean up our surroundings.”

Keep up the great work!
