Traffic chaos can leave one of two effects on commuters: it can either induce colourful swearing that can even lead nearby statues to experience an eye twitch (local superstition dictates that this is a sign that someone is talking about you) or just convert people back into the Catholic faith, for what else can you do when logic fails to solve infrastructural issues except pray?
Now, one video filmed in Gozo has revealed a third consequence, which has been so rarely experienced that it’s pretty much been written off the books.
The clip in question follows a sizeable flock of sheep as they casually stroll down a country lane, serving us with a dish of piping hot nostalgia. From concerns of being attacked by the friendly herd to comments about how beautiful and well-groomed the sheep are, the video adds a whole other dimension to the asthma-inducing, vein-popping congestion Maltese drivers have come to expect on the daily. The rural clip leaves viewers feeling all warm on the inside - a VERY different kind of warmth to the one induced by excessive raging.
The footage also shows one curious sheep sniffing the person behind the camera before re-joining the herd and also reveals an adorable little lamb enthusiastically trotting along to keep up with the sheep. While the shepherd does not make a cameo in the video, the well-behaved and orderly herd stand as testament to their master’s herding skills.
Someone call Mary, we’ve found her sheep!
