“Malta is the quintessential Mediterranean culture made up of every major maritime power that has sailed that sea. Each leaving behind a mark; some larger, some smaller. In a tiny, dense urban sprawl carved into thick limestone, Malta reveals itself as a strategic David amongst the sea’s Goliaths,” he notes in his video caption.

Mitchell also had a sit-down conversation over some traditional Maltese food with tour guide Paul Spiteri, who gave him a rundown of the Maltese lifestyle and hospitality. He also sat down with award-winning local chef Marvin Gauci, who talked about daily Maltese cuisine and our favourite dishes, including baked pasta, rabbit, and aljotta (fish soup).
