Last night, Malta’s Giorgia Borg hit the Britain’s Got Talent stage to perform in the semi-final after being put straight through to the live shows thanks to Alesha Dixon’s golden buzzer. Unfortunately, Giorgia didn’t get a spot in the top two needed to book a place in the final, but she did leave quite an impression on the judges and the crowd!

“You’ve made such an impression and impact on me,” says Alesha. “After your audition, I kept sending it to writer and producer friends of mine saying, ‘How is this girl 10 and sings like that and performs like that on stage?’” #YasAlesha! “Your voice, your tone, is beautiful. I’m very proud of you and I’m so happy I chose you as my golden buzzer.”

“It’s an absolute pleasure watching you because it’s rare that you get to sit back and relax,” starts off Amanda. “I didn’t worry at all about your performance. You were absolutely in the moment. The song, as Alesha said, is brilliant. I’m singing it in my head now which is a really good thing, it’s very catchy. You just did yourself proud!”

Then the big guns chimed in. “Giorgia did you write that song yourself?” asked Simon Cowell. Upon learning that she did, he proceeded to sing her praises. “Wow. Look, you are a gutsy little thing, I’m gonna hand it to you, and the confidence bearing in mind how old you are is really quite extraordinary.” After some constructive criticism, he made an amazing prediction. “I really do believe that you are gonna have a career in this business, trust me.”

David chimed in with some final concluding remarks about Giorgia’s performance. “We’re here to judge a fantastically talented 10-year-old girl who writes and sings like a dream. You did yourself proud tonight. That was extraordinary, well done.”
