After making it through to Saturday’s Eurovision final, the 10 qualifying countries of last night's second semi-final sat down for a press conference, in which Michela was asked a number of questions related to her performance and recent stats.
The first question was regarding her video being the most-viewed video out of all the Eurovision entries this year, and passing through to the next round.
“I feel really really proud to have passed to the final,” she started off. Gurl, so are we! “It’s one of my dreams and I can’t believe it has come true. As you may know obviously, I come from one of the smallest islands in the Mediterranean, so having the most viewed video is amazing and I’m really humble for it. Everybody’s aim here is to win, but it’s a competition after all so everybody wants to just do their best and then we’ll see what happens.”
The next question was related to how she ‘finds her way out of the box,’ as the lyrics in her song, Chameleon, state. Michela believes in challenging and believing in oneself and adapting to a situation despite negative comments because in doing so, “the results will still come but in your own way.” Take the reigns gurl!
The final question was regarding the last-minute changes to her performance which were on everyone’s mind, and she spoke like a true boss queen, explaining the situation. “We are all chameleons - me and my team - so we change and adapt a lot. From Malta we had two plans, we tried them both and used the one we thought was better, the one we used tonight, and I think it turned out to be pretty good actually!”
She then proceeded to unroll the scroll to reveal that she will be performing in the first half of Saturday’s grand final.
