WATCH: Mayor Pete being enticed by pastizzi on campaign trail is the most Maltese thing ever
The Maltese-American Presidential hopeful, Mayor Pete, was enticed to speak at a Maltese migrants’ club in New York with an offer of pastizzi. And honestly, it doesn’t get any more Maltese than that!
Pete Buttigieg appeared to engage well during a conversation with the president of the Malta club in Astoria, New York. “Alright, my people, Maltese! Doesn’t happen very often,” he said, surprised when he first came face-to-face with the Maltese speaker.
Mayor Pete is heard saying “mill-Hamrun” when the president of the club asked where his family was originally from. They also proceeded to talk about President Emeritus Anton Buttigieg (no, Pete isn’t related to the guy, but that sure would have been cool!)
The Maltese-speaking man eventually tried to entice the presidential candidate to speak at the Maltese club. They ended the conversation with “Narakom! Grazzi hafna.”
