The President of Malta, His Excellency Dr George Vella and his wife Miriam just met Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace while visiting the UK.

“Earlier today my wife Miriam and I called on Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace,” the President’s Facebook page announced. “Her Majesty showed interest about developments in Malta and vividly recalled memories of her visits to […] Malta.”

The President was introduced in true Buckingham Palace style and approached the Queen, followed by his wife. The video audio picks up part of a conversation where they discuss a special time when Her Majesty visited our islands – a place she holds dearly in her heart.

The President also called on the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles to discuss matters about the Commonwealth, environment and the Med. “HRH was keen to know more about Malta and spoke of his fond memories of Malta, particularly time spent at Sant'Anton Palace,” his official Facebook page wrote.
