WATCH: Local star Gabriel shows off footy skills during last weekend’s 24-hr marathon
You’ve probably heard of little Gabriel, a local seven-year-old kid with Cerebral Palsy whose mama raises awareness about rare diseases, especially her son’s, through her Facebook page Sunshine for Gabriel.

This weekend, as documented on the Facebook page, Gabriel hit the football field to shoot some goals with footballers at the Marsascala playing field. These locals were kindly raising money for his condition, which requires a hefty €80,000 for a procedure called SDR – selective dorsal rhizotomy. This will help him acquire better movements and release some discomfort caused by the tightness in his muscles.

Gabriel was captured on video playing to his heart’s content with one of the participants, who gladly spent some time with this adorable kid.
Organised by Ramiro & Friends, the football marathon lasted 24 hours and everyone involved donated €1,800 to Gabriel’s cause. Here’s what our little friend had to say about it!
The donations are currently at a little under the €35,000 mark - nearly halfway there! If you’d like to make a donation to Gabriel’s cause, you can donate via Revolut to +35699871752. Every little helps!
