They were mightily surprised with how full the crisps bags were!

We love watching foreigners react to the taste of Maltese snacks, and British siblings Alex and Kate (aka This with Them) are next to join the list of adventurous vloggers taking on the challenge.

Their video reveals that one half of the duo actually visited Malta in person: “I have been to Malta but Kate hasn’t,” Alex says. “I’ve also been to Gozo which is a small island off of Malta,” he continues, before adding that a friend of theirs is currently on the island filming a documentary about Maltese bees (how do we get a hold of them Alex?!). However, the vlogger did not return to the UK with a basket full of Maltese treats; it was a local super fan that sent it to them for one of their upcoming videos.

The abundant basket, sent by a mysterious local fan, was accompanied by a sweet note and an adorable drawing of the vloggers: “Dear Alex and Kate, I’m a big fan and I’ve been watching your videos for about a year now. My favourite video of yours is your trying treats box so I thought I’d send you one from my country Malta,” the letter read.

Their basket holds many classic Maltese snacks, such as Krips, Galletti, the all-time classic Twistees and even traditional Lenten treat Kwarezimal. Although Malta's national soft drink, Kinnie, is sadly missing from the lot, Alex and Kate's taste test is a fun and entertaining journey into local snacks.

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
