Wouldn’t you just love to wake up to that everyday!

A breathtaking video taken in the early morning hours – well, not that early, but early for us anyway - is making the rounds on local social media and we’re in awe.

And it seems that Joseph Gatt, the man behind the clip, has recently taken to waking up early, with similarly beautiful videos of the sunrise in other locations seen on his Instagram page. Captured from the Upper Barrakka Gardens, the video shows the sun’s first light hitting lower Valletta, Fort St Angelo and the Grand Harbour.

A comparatively more serene video was taken earlier this month, this time capturing the sunrise over Marsalforn, Gozo. The choppy seas, pale light and half-filled salt-pans give a different dimension to a Maltese sunrise experience.

Another equally stunning video taken from the rocky cliffs of Selmun pans from the stony landscape and pauses over the sight of St Paul's island.

What’s your favourite place to catch a sunrise from?

When she’s not having a quarter-life crisis, Caroline is either drawing in a café, frittering her salary on sushi or swearing at traffic in full-on Gozitan. There is also the occasional daytime drink somewhere in the equation. Or two. A creative must be allowed at least one vice.
