WATCH: Japanese woman wears incredible Malta-inspired kimono during Presidential visit
President of Malta Dr George Vella is currently on a trip to Tokyo visiting the diaspora overseas. “Maltese residents in Japan and various Japanese people with interest in Malta gave us a warm welcome when meeting them in Tokyo this week,” the President’s Facebook page posted.

“These people show a lot of enthusiasm towards Malta,” the President says, talking about the possibility of inaugurating a Maltese Embassy in Tokyo. “It would encourage the people to keep the interest in Malta alive.” And that Japanese connection is absolutely amazing, but something else that grabbed the attention of many was a Japanese woman who wore an INCREDIBLE Malta-inspired kimono to the event.

“There was a woman wearing a kimono with designs of Malta who told me that she spent 20,000 dollars to make it. One can only imagine her interest in our country!” the president remarked. “I love Malta very much,” the woman says, showing off the beautiful kimono adorned with scenic views of Malta and Gozo.
