WATCH: Historic crypt at Valletta’s St John’s Co-Cathedral has been restored & is looking FAB!
“When the Knights came to Malta, it’s certain that no one could imagine the impact these people were going to have on our history,” said Ms Cynthia de Giorgio, Curator at the cathedral during the inauguration. And boy, is she right.

St John’s Cathedral is possibly one of the most notable buildings left behind by legacy of the Knights of St John. Thanks to the cathedral’s foundation, this stunning piece of architectural heritage was able to be restored to its former glory.

“Mr Wilfrid Buttigieg, the President of The Foundation explained that the aim of the organisation was not only to restore, but also to conserve the historical, religious and artistic patrimony which lies at St. John’s Co-Cathedral,” they said.

The Archbishop of Malta, Msgr. Charles J. Scicluna blessed the cathedral on the day. We’re so glad to see such a big part of local history being restored.
