As reported by Times of Malta, CEO Svetozar Andreev explained that, “Perhaps this may help many of Malta’s people to take a broader view of our idea as it will give them a fuller understanding of how significant this symbol of Malta is across the world.” Fair point, but maybe it’s time to let the poor thing rest? The list includes articles from international news sites such as Nat Geo, CNN, Daily Mail, Corriere della Sera, Conde Nast Traveller, Lonely Planet, La Stampa, and even local ones such as Times of Malta, MaltaToday and yours truly, GuideMeMalta.

According to Times of Malta, the project was submitted at the start of 2019 to the Environment and Resources Authority and proposes a memorial museum. What will become of this historical site? Only time will tell.
