Traffic in Malta is a pain in the derriere during most hours of the day, but an increasingly irritating and nerve-racking aspect to a regular drive is the rule breaking we witness on a minute-by-minute basis on the road. Now, one driving instructor has touched up on the issue through a video he posted on his Facebook page. 

In the clip, he is in a car being driven towards the Gharghur roundabout. “We’re just exiting from the Naxxar roundabout in front of the Melita store, and I’d like to draw your attention to the roundabout we are currently approaching,” he says, continuing that “to go straight, you need to stick to the right lane." As a car pulls up next to him in the left lane, he comments that “since he’s on the left lane, this guy should be taking the first exit,” which the driver does.

The respect for rules doesn’t last long though, as barely moments later, another car from the left lane drives past the learner’s car and takes the second exit. “If you’re on the right lane, you can either continue on straight or take the third exit back to Iklin,” the exasperated instructor explains.

His video has been well received online with many calling for more educational videos on how to approach various difficult junctions across Malta. Following the feedback the video received, the instructor is already planning another quick tutorial on how to approach the Salina / Coast Road / Naxxar roundabout.
