For this particular adventure, local explorer Pierre Farrugia took his YouTube subscribers on a journey as he explored the secluded Maghlaq valley in Qrendi.

He started his hike from the Ghar Lapsi parking area before he slowly started making his way to the intriguing valley.

The area itself is full of history, on one side you’ll find the hagar qim and mnajdra temples while on the other there are what is known as the maghlaq catcombs. Pierre also told us that near the area they had found caves with prehistoric animal remains.

The path leading to the valley is a beautiful one. One can carefully walking near the edge and enjoy all the views of the sea dancing along the rocks and cliffs.

In fact, the area is also pretty popular with the local rock-climbing enthusiasts.

There are lots of caves everywhere you look which one can also explore.

Pierre started making his way up to reach the valley by following the small red marks painted on the rocks. As you’re hiking through, make sure to take some time to stop and take in the views of the stunning islet of Filfla.

As he was passing through the valley Pierre had to climb a lot of man-made steps that are carved into the rocks. He was not quite sure why they were there and who carved them but there sure was a lot of them.

While exploring the valley, he even found some old pieces of clay and pottery. Who knows how long they have been there!

As he kept climbing up and discovering more of the valley the views just kept getting more beautiful with each step.

Have you ever done this hike?
