Animal shelters across the Maltese islands are struggling to keep up with the ever-growing demand for stray animal care.

Whilst volunteering and donations are both bound to help make sanctuaries’ lives easier, nothing will do the trick quite like adopting one (or more!) of their furry residents.

With that being said, here are 12 adorable animals residing in Maltese animal shelters that are looking for their forever home:

1. MSPCA – Winston

Meet Winston – a large dog with a big heart who has just celebrated his 11th birthday.

2. Gozo SPCA – White Cat

This young white cat is looking for a loving family willing to keep him indoors.

3. Animal Welfare Gozo – Spencer

Two-year-old Spencer loves belly rubs and will give you all the love you deserve.

4. Rescued is my favourite breed (Lulu Arpa) – Snowy

Snowy has had an extremely hard life. After being chained and beaten all his life, he tragically suffered a stroke.

Having endured all that, Snowy definitely deserves an affectionate forever family ready to spoil him rotten!

5. Association for Abandoned Animals (AAA) – Five-year-old Persian

Good with both kids and adults, this black Persian beauty is playful and loving but smart and calm, making him the ideal pet for a family with children.

6. The Island Sanctuary Malta – Female Chihuahua

This female chihuahua was found abandoned in a box just days ago. She’s blind and has some problems with walking – but that doesn’t make her any less cute!

7. H'Attard Stray Animal Support Group – Sookie

12-week-old Sookie is as playful as can be, meaning that she is ideally adopted into a home with other cats.

8. Claws – Jolly

Looking cuter than ever in his bat costume, Jolly the ginger cat will undoubtedly bring some well-needed joy into your life.

9. Tomasina Cat Sanctuary – Peperina

Unfortunately, Peperina’s owner has just passed away and she was passed down to the sanctuary.

Peperina was passed on to the sanctuary after her owner sadly passed away. Sweet, gentle, and extremely loving, this cat will make the perfect loyal furry friend.

10. Kitty Guardians For Strays – Calico kitten

This little calico kitten was just picked up in Qormi and is an absolute cutie pie.

11. CSAF [Carers for Stray and Abandoned Felines} – Two baby cat brothers

These two adorable baby brothers are as cute as can be!

12. The Kitty Rescue – Jack

In just three months, this small cat sanctuary managed to transform baby Jack – who had already lost one eye and was going blind in the other – into a beautiful, healthy, and happy cat. What a fighter!
