Up for a swim? Thousands of jellyfish swarm Maltese and Gozitan waters
Some of them are frighteningly huge!

During the past few days, Malta was blessed with warm and sunny weather which prompted many into going for a quick holiday dip, but the jellyfish had other plans for them.  

Many beaches across Malta and Gozo are currently infested with never ending swarms of jellyfish, specifically the mauve stinger species who is currently breeding in Maltese waters.

Some of them are even “as big as saucers” a Facebook user reported.

They are reaching an impressive 20cm diameter when they usually only grow to 12-15cm.

So, if you’re planning on going for a refreshing swim you better think again…
