Maltese long-distance runner Dillon Cassar has done it again! Competing at the Valencia Half Marathon Trinidad Alfonso Zurich over the weekend, Dillon delivered an incredible performance, achieving a personal best time of 1:05:43 and securing the second all-time fastest Maltese result in the half marathon distance.

Out of a staggering 29,637 participants, Dillon placed 64th overall, a remarkable achievement on such a competitive international stage.

In an emotional post shared on social media, the athlete expressed deep gratitude to his coach and family for their ‘endless support’, adding that ‘running may look like a solo sport, but it truly takes a team behind the scenes.’

This isn’t the first time Dillon has made headlines. Back in 2022, he broke the national record at the Copenhagen Half Marathon, completing the 21.1km race in 1:06:07 – beating his previous record, also set in Valencia the year before, by four seconds.

Well done, Dillon – keep pushing those boundaries!
