Well done! Coast is Clear plants 957 indigenous trees across Malta since 2022

Since 2022, Coast is Clear has made an inspiring contribution to Malta’s natural environment by planting 957 Maltese indigenous trees across the island. This grassroots initiative, led with passion and perseverance, continues to grow thanks to partnerships with local companies and community events.

In fact, their most recent collaboration with Tipico Careers, added 33 new trees to the total.

Tree planting takes place mainly between October and March, the ideal period for young trees to establish roots.

However, the real challenge lies in the maintenance and watering that follows during Malta’s scorching summer months. Despite facing obstacles such as vandalism (12%), theft (4%), and drought (11%), an impressive 694 trees have successfully survived and continue to thrive.

These resilient trees can now be found in Pembroke (358), Qawra (245), San Ġwann (47), Chadwick Lakes (12), and several other locations around Malta.

Each sapling planted represents a small but vital step toward a greener, healthier island!

A huge thank you goes to Coast is Clear for their contributions!
