The rain is expected to persist till later tonight.

During the past 24 hours, Malta has been experiencing constant rainfall. In fact, according to ‘Maltese Islands Weather’ up until 30mm of rainfall has fallen all across Malta and Gozo in the last 24 hours.

The rain is expected to persist up until late this night and will be falling quite heavily at certain times.

‘Maltese Islands Weather’ is also predicting that the month of February will be the first February since that of 2018 to measure more rainfall than that of the average of the month.

Looks like the Maltese saying, frar fawwar jimla l-bjar, which roughly translates to how rainfall in February overflows wells, is living up to its name.

The weather Facebook page, ‘Temp Madwarna’ reported that this type of rain is perfect for Malta’s agriculture, flora and fauna as the rain is falling steadily and frequently instead of heavily and all at once.
