Ugh! Malta to continue to be hit by Saharan dust & blood rain over the next few days
Our poor cars aren’t happy about it!

Jillian Mallia

Malta is amongst several European countries that will continue to experience massive amounts of dust over the next few days. Dusty skies and horrible sandy rain, or as we call it in Maltese, xita tal-hamrija, enveloped the Maltese Islands last night, with many waking up to dirty cars and windows this morning.

But it's not done yet. Sadly, this weather that’s making our allergies act up is set to continue for the next couple of days. According to local weather site Malta Weather, isolated showers are expected today, while tomorrow will continue to be quite hazy, with temperatures hitting 26°C – the warmest so far!

Blood rain showers will continue on Wednesday and Thursday, but should calm down for the weekend, with temperatures decreasing a little to 18°C during the day and 6°C during the night.

Here's hoping it all clears up sooner rather than later!
