Travel bloggers Chanel Cartell and Stevo Dirnberger have been travelling the world together for nearly four years, visiting 55 countries and counting. And now, the travelling pair have showcased their recent trip to Malta in The Cut's ongoing Instagram series ‘Weekend With’, featuring people photographing beautiful places.

According to the Cut, the couple initially booked an apartment for a month in Malta as part of their travels, “but underestimated how much it had to offer.”

“Malta was one of those long-stay-to-relax kind of trips. We booked an apartment for a month, and hoped to get some editing done, and then spend the rest of the time relaxing and exploring. What we didn’t realise is just how much there’d be to see in such a small country, and we barely saw it all,” says Cartell.

The article continues to describe Malta's turquoise blue water and landscapes as coming “straight out of a Star Wars set”, with the pair exploring different and uncommon places, and discovering the hidden gems around the Maltese Islands. Some of their stops included the salt pans in Gozo, which they call “Nature’s make-up palette.”

Another beautiful location is Fungus Rock, also on the sister island Gozo. The couple explain, “Fungus Rock is located very near to where the Azure Window once stood. We visited to see the remains of the UNESCO site, and kind of fell in love with this scene” - we don't blame them!

They also visited the valley and caves of Wied il-Għasri in Gozo: “Malta’s waters and cave are definitely some of the most beautiful we’ve ever seen. This particular spot was our favourite.”

“Every corner, every cliff, every time we stopped, there was something beautiful to marvel at,” the couple gushes, adding that they would have loved to spend more than month exploring the natural beauty the Islands have to offer - and we can't say we're surprised to hear that they're “definitely hoping to return one day”!
