If you only know Comino as a famous touristic destination packed with sunbeds and sand-covered swimmers, this decades-old photo of the island will show you a lesser-known side of its beauty.
Before its rise to fame, this little gem was an oasis for locals and looked a lot more tranquil than it does today.
Facebook page Love Gozo Island took to social media to share an iconic photo of the beloved island, sure to bring back some memories.
The photo captures the old Comino hotel in its prime, boasting eight tennis courts and two pools, with the crystal waters of the Blue Lagoon peeking through the background.
According to Love Gozo Island, “Comino Hotel was built so that Gozitan people have a place to work at for more than 50 years.”
Developers are currently working on the new and supposedly improved concept Comino Hotel and Villas by HV Hospitality.
The hotel is a Natura 2000 site and aims to showcase sustainable design and work with nature.
