‘Through the Eye of the Needle’: Local artist challenges conventional boundaries in Valletta art exhibition this February
It’s all happening from the 8th of February at 6pm.
Art enthusiasts rejoice because Stefan Spiteri's latest exhibition, ‘Through the Eye of the Needle,’ is officially opening with a special event on Thursday, the 8th of February, from 6pm onwards. The exhibition invites art lovers to delve into the profound exploration of canvas depth, challenging the conventional boundaries of artistic expression.
Stefan Spiteri employs the needle as a metaphor, revealing that there is more beneath the surface than meets the eye. The artworks on display unravel the complexity of existence, emphasising that every element is susceptible to fraying, urging us to embrace the art of mending.
The Art Galleries will not only showcase Stefan Spiteri's latest creations but will also feature an installation by the artist's mother, Speranza Spiteri.
Curated by Andrew Borg Wirth and designed by Lyanne Mifsud, the exhibition promises a multi-sensory experience, complemented by a sound installation by Chris Galea.
Visitors can also join the artists' tour on Saturday, the 24th February, at 11am, and mark your calendars for the closing concert on Wednesday, the 28th of February, at 7pm, featuring Claire Tonna and Tom Armitage.
Located at the Concert Hall, Palazzo De La Salle, Valletta, admission is free, ensuring that this immersive artistic journey is accessible to all.
