This story proves that locals have hearts of gold and know a thing or two about generosity. Fellow local, Yanica Galea is appealing to people everywhere to help her fund a new wheelchair she needs which costs a whopping €15,000. And locals are coming through!
Yanica has had her current wheelchair for the past 15 years which has served her well, but it’s time for an upgrade. And the timing couldn’t be better! Yanica will be turning 29 on 22nd March and took to Facebook to ask everyone’s help, in any way they can.
“My current 15-year-old electric wheelchair is dying slowly and I need to buy a new one which costs €15,000! If any of my friends want to send me just €1 it would mean so much to me,” she says. Her post has received over 400 comments from people saying they donated, and 485 shares.
