Special guests chef Michael Diacono and interior designer Alison Satariano will be giving masterclasses on the day
With just over a month left till Christmas, we’re gearing up for the season with more enthusiasm than ever before. Themed markets and fairs are currently being organised all across the island and one local school’s plans to revolutionise the concept of a regular Christmas school fair has some pretty cool twists in store for its visitors.
San Anton’s 11th annual Christmas market will showcase over 52 curated stalls which will exhibit traditional decorations, home accessories, jewellery, wooden toys, advent calendars, Poinsettia and Holly plants, gourmet foods, and many more original gifts which can also mark a cool addition to the general stocking fillers.
The market will also include two really cool Christmas-themed masterclasses. The first one involves acclaimed Chef Michael Diacono who will be joined by his famous home-cook mum Rita for a cooking masterclass, while the second scheduled masterclass caters for those with a penchant for interior design; hosted by interior decorator Alison Satariano - her contribution will focus on the art of Christmas decorating.
San Anton's Christmas market will also feature traditional Maltese Christmas delicacies to be sampled while shoppers roam around, namely mulled wine and cider (yum), imbuljuta (double yum!), roasted chestnuts and freshly baked pies.
The Christmas market is also set up in a way to distract even the most unimpressable children, with entertainment options such as build-a-bear workshops, bouncy castles, go-cart track, Santa’s Grotto with a “real” Santa Claus, a live crib and a picnic area, the ideal combination to keep your kids happy while you shop. There will also be entertainment for the larger children out there too (a.k.a us adults) with a scheduled mini performance of FM Theatre Productions Christmas Panto – the Little Mermaid.
San Anton’s Christmas Market will be held within the school premises found in Imselliet, l/o Mgarr on Sunday 24th November 2019 between 10.30am and 5pm.
