This Gozitan town is pulling out all the stops for its Halloween celebrations tonight!
Happy Halloween, kids! Today is a day when everyone and everything becomes a little creepier, creativity flourishes in the form of striking costumes and make-up, and people head out for some scary fun. If you’re not sure what to do with your fam this spooky eve, we’ve got just the thing.

Gozo’s town of Ghajnsielem is getting ready to welcome Gozo-goers and locals to their eerie garden this evening. We spoke to town mayor Kevin Cauchi for the deets about the events happening tonight. “It’s the first edition of Halloween in Ghajnsielem,” he says. “The event is primarily for kids but it’s obviously open to everyone who would like to join in on the fun.”

Mr Cauchi says that the event will be held in the garden opposite the local council and will be taking on a spooky theme and renamed ‘Ghajnsielem Haunted Garden’ for the duration of the evening. “We took on the responsibility to decorate the gardens and we put emphasis on using recycled materials for decorations, such as hanging up decorated plastic bottles.”

Mr Cauchi said the night will get into the Halloween theme with lights, creepy noises and Halloween characters spooking up the garden. “Throughout the night there will also be ongoing activities such as face painting, balloon modelling, pumpkin carving, a mummy station, animators and a bouncy castle. We will also have a best costume competition and we’ll be selling Halloween cupcakes, the proceeds of which will go towards Pink October.”

Are you ready for a spooky Halloween in Ghajnsielem? The event kicks off at 5.30pm!
