Every once in a while we come across a good meme relating to Malta, but this time, we think we might have hit the motherload! Maltese Society Through Spongebob Stills is a Facebook page dedicated to showing various situations on the Maltese Islands, all through Spongebob memes (yes, the Nickelodeon cartoon).

Honestly, the stuff is hilarious and guarantees a good laugh from situations that are totally #relatable. Here are some of our favourites from this genius page!

Ah, the age-old debate of whether students should actually study the national language. While we believe Maltese is a beautiful language, this is totally relatable.

The recent Budget2020 revealed one thing in particular: every family welcoming a child will receive €300. But what if there were tickets to a Champion’s League football match marked at the same price?

A little history lesson about the Mintoff Administration that only allowed that one chocolate Dezerta that was anything but.

A lot of kids would avoid this situation like the plague. Not that they had anything against the patri, but all they’d want to do is grab a snack and go back to playing video games in peace.

6. Tuck shop royalty

Oh boy, if you had two liri (€4.66) to spend on tuck shop food at school, that day you were considered #royalty. And the other peasant students would ask for 20 cents to buy their favourite chocolate because you were the almighty baller.

7. Rainfall

There’s nothing like the first rainfall in Malta, and by that we mean the CONSTANT DOWNPOUR that turns into flooding. Guess it’s a good washing away of summer sins… and also those cars in Msida and Birkirkara.

The gagga ta’ Havana will always be an iconic part of a Paceville night out. Ass grabbing, shots and lots of manic dancing are the ingredients for a Havana night done right.

10. Pastizzi (obvs)

Pastizzi are a local delicacy, and weighing in at roughly 350 calories a pop, they're the perfect remedy for preventing a hangover (or so we think). On a drunken night out, you’d easily have four to soak up that alcohol, but pastizzi challenges have sprouted, seeing locals eating over eight at one go. Alone. And Sober. #CholesterolCentral
