What happens if you cross Non Plastic Beach with Nature Trust (Malta)? A turtle is born. Well, not exactly, but this cast iron, turtle-shaped soap dish; along with the handmade, plastic-free, palm oil-free soap and the bamboo toothbrush in the Turtley Awesome eco pack do their bit to raise awareness about the need to keep our seas plastic-free and turtle-safe.

Non Plastic Beach met with Nature Trust (Malta) during a visit to the Maltese Islands in December 2018. Out of this meeting, a scheme was conceived, intended to help fund Nature Trust’s 24-hour rescue team and the building of a larger rehabilitation facility.

In 24 years, Nature Trust (Malta) has rescued over 300 turtles, many of which are endangered. Turtles are constantly threatened by plastic pollution, which they ingest confusing it for jellyfish, one of their favourite foods. Plastic also entangles in their flippers, maiming them with time. The Trust rescues injured sea turtles, rehabilitates them and releases them back into the wild. Follow rescue, progress and release announcements on the Nature Trust (Malta) Facebook page

The Turtley Awesome eco pack was launched on World Turtle Day. All materials in the eco pack are recyclable or compostable - a clear message to favour recyclable or compostable products while raising awareness about the dangers of plastic in the ocean and the need to protect the creatures of the sea.

So what are you waiting for? Get your Turtley Awesome eco pack and do your bit to support the cause while indulging in beautiful bathroom accessories. It also leaves you smelling like a Mojito!
