The Arts Council Malta, part of the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government, has launched Kor Malta, an exciting project which will introduce Malta’s own national choir.
“The need to set up a national choir was felt for quite some time, and with this project, Arts Council Malta will be fulfilling this need,” stated Minister for Justice, Culture and Local Government Owen Bonnici.

The Minister also said that the Council is committed to making Kor Malta another success. “This initiative is yet another step forward in making the sector more professional." Meanwhile, Chairman of the Arts Council, Albert Marshall, said that plans for Kor Malta include concerts with the national orchestra, solo concerts and touring abroad.” All fantastic opportunities!

Kor Malta will be making its debut at St Paul’s Pro-Cathedral in Valletta on the 2nd of December at 6pm. The concert will be entirely a cappella, positioned in different areas of the cathedral, showcasing the choir’s capabilities. As part of the government’s Outreach in the Community project, the choir will be giving another performance at St Nicholas Parish Church in Siggiewi on the 4th of December at 7.30pm.
