On Monday (today), Charles & Ron announced the closure of its Valletta outlet, in Republic Street.

“Our story in Valletta has come to an end, but this isn’t goodbye! We are excited to continue serving you at our locations in Naxxar and at MinusThree, The Point,” Charles & Ron shared on Facebook.

The store opened its doors to the public in 2016 by Charles and Ron van Maarschalkerweerd Borg.

“We want to express our heartfelt thanks for the wonderful journey we have shared with you over the past eight years at our Valletta shop,” the designer brand's team said.

Charles is a self-taught couture maker after inheriting his passion from his family, a long line of seamstresses.

After meeting with Ron in 1992 and having been partners for well over 30 years, they created the Charles & Ron brand, being one of the first fashion brand in Malta to celebrate local heritage.

The brand captured the attention of many locals as well as international celebrities like Ariana Grande, Carrie Underwood, Paula Abdul, Jesie J, Michelle Williams, and many others.

In 2020, Charles & Ron opened a café in Naxxar with an adjacent shop and a display of clothing and accessories.

Farewell!
