Destiny’s shocking pink outfit has been the talk of the town lately following a clip of her first rehearsal in Rotterdam, sparking a debate on whether she should change her outfit for the performance.

Swedish designer Sebastian Löjdkvist, who seemed to have been the brains behind the outfit, shared a post on social media. “First of I’d like to say, haters are always gonna hate. But remember that you are talking about an 18-year-old girl - and what gives you the right to talk about how she looks and what she wears!?” he starts off, reposting one of Destiny’s posts.

“It has been such an honour to me to create this look for Destiny, it is a bold statement while still being fun, flirty and playful. The 23,000 sparkling crystals can never outshine your STAR QUALITY Des! You’re a winner, baby!” he concludes.

The original post Sebastian reposted shared a message of empowerment by Malta’s Eurovision contestant. “I loved it as it makes me feel comfortable in my own skin. Maybe I am not the size six society is used to, maybe the dress or image is more important than an artist’s performance, but I am here to do my job. This is no gimmick. This is my real-life story.”
