Visitors planning a trip to MUŻA, Malta’s national community art museum, are being advised to take note of a temporary change to public access early in the new year.

As of Monday 5th January 2026, the museum’s ground floor galleries will be closed to the public due to scheduled refurbishment works. These improvements form part of ongoing efforts to enhance the overall visitor experience and preserve the museum’s spaces for future generations.

The refurbishment is expected to last just under a month, with the ground floor galleries scheduled to reopen on Monday 2nd February 2026. During this period, certain exhibitions and displays housed on the ground floor will not be accessible. However, the works are being carefully planned to minimise disruption and ensure that the upgraded spaces meet the highest standards once reopened.
