Take note! Malta Public Transport announces special services for Carnival festivities
Malta Public Transport has announced increased bus services for the upcoming Carnival festivities, taking place from 13th to 15th February, to accommodate the expected surge in passenger demand in Valletta and Nadur.
For the Valletta Carnival, several bus routes serving the capital will operate with extended hours and higher frequencies on Sunday. Routes connecting Ċirkewwa, St Paul’s Bay, and St Julian’s will also see enhanced services on Saturday, ensuring smooth travel for festival-goers.
In Gozo, special arrangements will support the popular Nadur Carnival. Additional services will run throughout the weekend, with direct buses linking Victoria and Nadur at regular intervals.
Shuttle services between Mġarr Ferry Terminal and Nadur will align with ferry schedules. Late-night return buses via routes 801 to 806 will provide island-wide connectivity after the celebrations.
Dedicated routes will serve localities including Xagħra, Marsalforn, Xewkija, Sannat, Munxar, Xlendi, Kerċem, St Lucia, San Lawrenz, Għarb, Għasri, Żebbuġ, Għajnsielem, Mġarr, and Qala.
From Ċirkewwa, special routes S41 to Valletta and S222 to Sliema will operate based on demand.
Personalised Tallinja Card holders can travel free on all day, night, and special services, while others may purchase tickets on board (€2 for day journeys; €3 for night and special services), payable by cash or contactless methods.
