Take note! Gozo Fast Ferry to reduce trips due to yearly docking

Emma Galea

The Gozo Fast Ferry’s been a huge breath of fresh air for those Gozitan students and workers who needed to quicken up their commute to and from Malta.

It just so happens that, earlier today, the service took to social media to announce that its vessels will soon be undergoing the necessary yearly docking to ensure they’re kept in tip-top condition.

Because of this, the Fast Ferry’s trips will be reduced from 29th November until further notice…

These changes will affect trips from both the Mgarr Harbour and the Valletta Harbour.

When it comes to trips from the Mgarr Harbour, the 5:45am ferry will only be operating during weekdays. The 6:45am and 4:45pm ferries are set to be completely taken out of the picture.

The 6:45pm and 8:45pm trips from the Mgarr Harbour have been replaced by a trip at 7:45pm. Similarly, the weekend schedule has seen the 10:45pm trip get replaced by one at 9:45pm.

The Valletta Harbour schedule has also gone through rather significant changes…

For starters, the 6:45am trip will only take place during weekdays, whilst the 3:45pm, 5:45pm, and 7:45pm trips have been removed. An extra trip has been added at 6:45pm.

The weekend’s 9:45pm trip has been replaced with a 8:45pm one.

Conversely, the Gozo Virtu Fast Ferries’ and the Gozo Channel’s schedules will remain unaffected.

Has this affected your commute?
