Take note! Extra bus services announced for Malta vs Luxembourg football match at Ta’ Qali this Thursday

Malta Public Transport has announced a series of additional bus services ahead of the highly anticipated Nations League promotion play-off between Malta national football team and Luxembourg national football team, set to take place on Thursday 26th March 2026 at the National Stadium.

To facilitate travel for fans heading to Ta’ Qali, special direct routes will operate from Valletta, Żurrieq, and Paola. These services are designed to provide a convenient and efficient way for supporters to reach the stadium while reducing traffic congestion in the area.

In addition to the direct routes, extra trips will be added on several popular routes, including services from Valletta, Bugibba, Sliema, and the University. These include multiple departures in the late afternoon, ensuring that fans from different parts of the island can arrive in time for kick-off.

Below are the direct routes and times:

The following additional services will operate on the day:

· Extra Route 403 from University at 16:25 and 16:55.

· Extra Route 56 from Valletta at 16:00 and 16:40.

· Extra Route 186 from Bugibba at 15:50, 16:20 and 16:50.

· Extra Route 202 from Sliema at 15:15, 15:45 and 16:15.

Direct services to Ta’ Qali will run as follows:

· Valletta to Ta’ Qali at 16:10, 16:30 and 16:50.

· Żurrieq to Ta’ Qali at 15:50, 16:10, 16:30 and 16:50.

· Paola to Ta’ Qali at 15:55, 16:10, 16:25, 16:40 and 16:55.

Travel will be free of charge for passengers using a Tallinja Card, while those without one can purchase tickets onboard for €2. After the match, buses will be available near the stadium, departing to key locations such as Valletta, Sliema, St Paul’s Bay, Żurrieq, and Paola, depending on demand.

Passengers will also find transport officials on-site to assist with boarding and directions, helping to ensure a smooth and organised matchday experience for all supporters.
