Storm’s a brewin’! Zibel’s tips will help you save the environment in this crazy weather

With this crazy weather currently engulfing our islands, it’s good to know what we can do to help minimise environmental damage. Local clean-up group Zibel recently posted some tips that locals can follow.

With rough waves and strong winds currently splashing and blowing away, here’s what you can do to minimise environmental impact:

1. Pull out your fenders, tenders and boat equipment

… or anything else that isn’t so secure while you still can! “We don’t want to be pulling them out of the sea at our next clean up!”

2. Watch out for your garbage!

Zibel suggests tying “your bags tightly and try to keep them in a visible, sheltered area so they won’t make their way into the sea.”

3. Spread the word!

Help others stay informed by discussing such measures. It will help society and our environment.

We want to protect ourselves from the bad weather – the environment deserves just the same. A little attention can go a long way.
