Get ready for another luxurious local getaway option because Hyatt Hotels Corporation is making its way to Malta! According to Travel Pulse, the company announced that a “Hyatt affiliate has entered into a franchise agreement with Bay Street Holdings Limited to develop the first Hyatt-branded hotel in Malta.” Xi gmiel!

The resort will consist of 153 rooms in St Julian’s and should open its doors by 2021, and will be the “ideal destination” for any occasion, be it business meetings or a fun and memorable family holiday.

“We are thrilled to announce plans for the first Hyatt-branded property in Malta, a country rich in historic architecture and now quickly becoming one of the most sought-after destinations for business and leisure travel,” said Guido Frederich, the corporation’s regional vice president development, Europe. And he’s not wrong in that department!

According to the latest stats, our island’s tourism numbers have doubled since 2010, and visitors often choose to stay in the St Julian’s area, which is known for the shops, restaurants, and amounts of entertainment options available.

Hyatt Regency Malta will be located just a short walk from the beach and marina, and is an easy spot to get to, accessible by bus, car and taxi service. The hotel will offer flexible event spaces and will be equipped with a five-storey underground car park. “At Hyatt Regency Malta, guests will enjoy the seamless, intuitive experiences the brand is well recognized for,” said Albert Galea, CEO of Bay Street Holdings Limited.

Hyatt Regency Malta will add to the growing Hyatt Regency brand portfolio in Europe, joining Hyatt Regency Nice Palais de la Mediterranee, the recently announced Hyatt Regency Lisbon, as well as the soon-to-open Hyatt Regency Barcelona Fire and Hyatt Regency Hesperia Madrid.
