As we speak, a meeting at Castille is taking place to discuss Government’s position on the matter, as well as presenting proposals that were drawn up in the past days after various construction mishaps occurred in different localities. The meeting was arranged in the wake of another collapse just last Saturday of a three-storey apartment block in Mellieha, following another collapse in Gwardamangia a few months back.

Locals are obviously concerned about this turn of events, and are speaking out about the tumultuous construction situation on the islands. “No amount of money will ever remedy the heartache faced by these victims,” said one Facebook user in a post related to the recent Hamrun collapse.

We've been lucky so far, so here's hoping it's all dealt with, before anyone gets hurt!
