Award-winning Maltese actress Steffi Thake has just shared visual proof of herself working alongside Hollywood A-lister Russell Crowe in an upcoming film.

Partially shot in Malta, ‘Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher’, is a biographical drama following the titular character’s journey to becoming the youngest-ever boxing world champion.

The film is being directed by Daniel Graham, with Matt Hookings playing the protagonist and Russell Crow taking on the supporting role of Jack Slack – Jem Belcher’s grandfather.

“Here you go! Unflattering proof that I got to work with Russell Crowe in a scene of Daniel Graham‘s upcoming movie - Prizefighter: The Life of Jem Belcher”, Steffi wrote on social media.

This film was the reason Russell Crowe had visited Malta late last year; his first visit to the islands since filming ‘Gladiator’ over 20 years ago.

‘Prizefighter’ is far from Steffi’s first experience in the film industry. Her on-screen credits also include Hounds of War, Uwijja (2022), and Is-Sriep Regghu Saru Velenuzi (2021).
